Cost of Ownership:  All pups are $2,000 CND,  unless otherwise advertised. Breeding rights are additional.

 

Pick Your Puppy: We place puppies by using an ongoing 'pick list'.  The best way to obtain your preference of a puppy is to get on this list early.  When your name comes up and you don't see your preferences, you can stay on the list until the next litter. First pick of each litter is reserved for us (the owners), and a second pick is reserved for repeating owners, who are getting their second or third Catahoula from us.  We would rather have people waiting for pups, rather than pups waiting for people. For this reason we produce puppies according to the demand shown by the pick list, so an average wait time is a few months.  We like this practice because we produce puppies that are already wanted and planned for.  It reduces 'impulse buying' and our clients tend to be well researched and well prepared for their pup when it arrives.

Color: Although we do not genetically test for color, it's generally thought that dogs with more than 50% white have a double gene for merle color The leopards will have one merle gene mostly, and mostly the solids none. Dogs, of many breeds, have additional vulnerabilities to eye or hearing issues with the presence of the merle gene. Therefore it is believed that the pups with more white are more vulnerable than a solid. If you purchase a pup with the double merle gene at 8 weeks it is because we do not detect any problems, however, if a problem arises in the first two years a replacement pup is provided.

Deposit:  A $500 deposit will get you on the 'pick list' and you can make your selection at 4-5 weeks old. You can come in person, or we can provide video footage to allow you to make a decision.  If you don't find the right pup you can defer your deposit to a future litter.  E transfer to cardinal.devanee@gmail.com or cheque to Devanee Cardinal.

Health Check and Vaccines:   All pups come with both.  You will need to do booster shots and deworming

Delivery: Pick up of puppies is the new owner's responsibility, but we can often help coordinate ride options. We have been able to find reliable rides for puppies all over BC and Alberta.   We new offer delivery to Quebec and Ontario and across Canada.  We fly them two at a time and there is an additional cost, but it is quite reasonable.

Registration:  All dogs are eligible for registration through NALC, National Association of Louisiana Catahoulas, You will receive your paperwork in the mail, and need to submit them with your chosen name and $20 USD.  You will then get the originals in the mail.

Follow up:  You are encouraged to stay in touch, and/or join a chat with owners from the same litter.
